I can’t thank enough the Support Elders staff who helped me get my most essential medical instrument of sleep apnea repaired. I have an age-old problem of sleep disorder for which I have to use a breathing machine regularly at night, or else I cannot sleep. Last week, in this lockdown period, my machine suddenly stopped working. First, I called my machine repair person, who stays in the Garia-Patuli Township area, but he flatly refused to come because of the lockdown; instead, he asked me to go to his place. There was no question of me going out in this scenario, specially when my driver is absent. Then, I called the Support Elders staff who is in charge of my area. He immediately sent a staff member to whom I handed over my machine and made him understand the problem. To my surprise, within less than 1 hour the staff got it repaired and replaced the faulty mask with a new one and brought it back to me. I was so impressed with the help that I could not thank him enough for saving me from the mental trauma. I immediately called up my son, who stays abroad, to inform him about the incident. I would like to thank you all again for the help you are offering to the elderly members during this emergency situation. May God bless the organization.

Our mother, Ms S Datta, has been a member of Support Elders for almost three years now and the team has been like a family to her, especially since both her children live away from Kolkata. Their prompt service, responsibility and compassion for the elders is commendable. With the recent outbreak of Covid-19, they did not falter although it was an entirely new and unknown territory to them and their staff. The organisation was quick to appraise the new situation and intimated us and assured us with emails, the plan they have in place and how they will deal with the most important and essential services while the non-essential services will be deferred to keep both the elders and the staff safe. In recent times, my mother’s medication and all essentials were efficiently replenished even though there was a shortage in the city. Her care manager is always quick to respond to our calls and messages and diligently takes care of our mother’s medical needs that arise from time to time. I wish all team members of Support Elders the very best, stay safe and keep up the good work and your genuine efforts.

Thank you, Support Elders, for helping me to withdraw my pension and to purchase my regular medicines. Our life in this lockdown period wouldn’t have been so smooth without your help. God bless your staff and your organisation for helping all the elderly people like me who are absolutely home at confined.

Support Elders is doing so much for elders like me in this time of lockdown that we will be forever grateful to them. They don’t even allow me to step out from my home for any single necessity. Whatever I need, may that be medicines, essential grocery items or even withdrawing money everything is happily done by the always cheerful staff. The only time I step out from my flat, is to pluck flowers from my garden for puja. God bless Support Elders.
