During the festive season, when availability of ambulances and doctors are less, one of our members Wg Cmd S. C. Mitra, had a fall in the
middle of the night. He somehow managed to call ZC Mr M. K. Sinha at around 12:30 a.m. and stated his condition. Mr. Sinha informed MCA Mr S. Bhattacharya who immediately went to the member’s house. On his way he also informed the Alarm Centre for an ambulance, which was arranged promptly. Mr Bhattacharya took our member to the hospital and ensured that he was attended to immediately. Since he had incurred a fracture, he was in the hospital for a week, during which Support Elders staff regularly visited him and took updates about his health. When he was discharged, he was carefully brought back by MCA J. Ali who ensured that his plastered leg was not harmed. He is better now. His plaster has been removed and he can walk around with a stick.

The Blessing of Continuous Health Monitoring
Constant monitoring through the Well@Home Solution helped our member Mr Das in getting rid of his palpitations and weakness. The Care Integrator Ms S. Bal, during her weekly visit, physically checked the health parameters of our member Mr B. Das and observed that his blood pressure had decreased and his heart rate had increased. On questioning him she found that he experienced palpitations and weakness while walking. She was also told that he had a stent placed in his heart and was continuing with medicines prescribed 4years ago. The health parameters were also verified with the CNC team who remotely monitored them 24×7. Ms. Bal suggested that a doctor visit was required and spoke to Mr. Das’s family to convince him for it. He agreed to go with Ms Bal. The timely doctor intervention helped. His medicines were changed, new medicines were added and some were continued. This helped stabilise his blood pressure and normalize his heart rate.
Dedication beyond measure
While visiting our member Ms. G. Basu, to take her for a doctor visit, MCA Mr. J. Roy found her pretty unwell. On reaching the hospital Mr. Roy got her a wheelchair. Since her health was deteriorating, he immediately spoke to the hospital staff and was insistent that she be attended to on an urgent basis. The doctor concerned was in the OT, but on Mr. Roy’s insistence he came to attend our member. He found Ms Basu’s heart rate had decreased and immediately got some medical investigations and an ECG done. Ms Basu was kept under observation the entire day till her condition stabilised at around 4.00 p.m. Mr. Roy was by her side right from 10.00 in the morning till she was discharged. He constantly took updates about her health and didn’t budge from our member’s side even for food. Once she was discharged, he brought her back home safely, made her comfortable and then ate. Ms Basu was extremely thankful for all that he did.

Constant Support
On 8th September, 2023 at 11:00 a.m our member Ms A. Boral had fallen in the dining place and was in immense pain. When ZC Mr B. Das was informed, he immediately sent MCA Mr S. K Mishra to the member’s house and informed the Alarm Centre to send an ambulance. She was lifted carefully and taken to the hospital and admitted. A few tests were conducted. In the evening MCA Mr S. Naskar was present during the CT scan. As the report showed she was okay, they discharged her the next day. As she still complained of being in pain ZC Mr B. Das took her to an orthopaedic doctor for consultation. He examined her and stated that she had a fracture and required a surgery. An appointment was booked for surgery. Till Ms Boral was at the hospital Mr Das and other team members constantly visited her. After her surgery she was brought back home safely. She is being taken for regular check-ups as prescribed by the doctor. She is recovering and has started walking slowly.
