On 28 December, 2022 just after midnight MCA Mr F. C. Patra received a call from NAC, stating an emergency. He immediately rushed and reached our member’s house within 10 minutes. He found that Ms S. Busch had vomited earlier and had a terrible stomach pain as well as breathing problem. NAC had already sent an ambulance and Ms Busch was taken to the nearest hospital. The MCA took our member to the emergency and admitted her. The doctor reported that her blood sugar had increased and she was suffering from gastritis which had resulted in stomach ache. Reaching her to the hospital in time had saved her from other complications. Till the time she was there, Support Elders staff constantly visited her to enquire about her health. When she was discharged, she was brought back home safe by the team.

The alarm triggered at NAC, on 31 st October and a call landed from our member, Mr A.K Sinha’s house, at 7.50 p.m, stating an emergency. Our care associate, Mr S. K Mishra, was assigned the duty and he immediately rushed to the member’s house and found him feverish and weak. Having high temperature in the morning, resulting in physical weakness, his wife wanted to consult a doctor immediately, in fear that the fever might aggravate at night. MCA Mr B. Maity took over from Mr Mishra, as his duty came to an end. It was a seamless transit of service. While Mr Maity accompanied the member and his wife along with the medical documents in the cab, Mr Mishra went ahead on his bike, guiding the cab driver through shortest routes to reach the pre-decided hospital fast and left. Our member was taken to the emergency unit by Mr Maity, where the doctor conducted a Dengue/ Malaria test. He was then kept under observation for a few more medical tests and was provided medication accordingly. At around 11.00 p.m our member and his wife was dropped home safely by Mr Maity and left after assuring that he would constantly be in touch till the Member’s recovery.

On 4th September, at 5.10 a.m, a call was received by NAC, from the wearable device of our member Ms C. Mukherjee, triggering the emergency alert. MCA Mr S. K Mishra was immediately informed by NAC and he instantly left for the member’s house. Simultaneously, the ZC Mr T. K. Mahato received a call from the member’s daughter stating an emergency. He too rushed to the member’s house and found her son-in-law waiting outside, unable to open the door. There was no response from inside. Looking at the critical condition, ex-Army serviceman Mr Mahato, kicked open the door and found Ms Mukherjee lying unconscious on the floor. In the meantime, the MCA guided and brought the ambulance to our member’s house. They rushed to the first floor with a stretcher, and brought our member into the ambulance. They instantly took her to the hospital and admitted her. She was kept under observation for few days for a thorough check-up. Later she was brought back home by the Support Elders team when she was discharged.

On 11th October, 2022, Mr Purkait from SEPL received a call at around 10.20 p.m from our member Mr S. C Bhowmik’s house, stating that there was a medical emergency. Member care associate Mr Bera was immediately sent. On reaching he found the member vomiting profusely and feeling extremely weak. He was dehydrated and was shivering and required immediate medical attention. Mr Bera informed Mr Bhowmik’s daughter who stays abroad, about his need for hospitalization. On confirmation, he collected the member’s medical documents and immediately took him to the emergency unit of the hospital. The doctor instantly attended to him and gave him an injection and medication. He was kept under observation for few hours and was discharged around 1:30 a.m. MCA Mr Bera stayed by his side till he felt relaxed and comfortable, and then left his home.
