The Key Solution

On 6th March’23 at around 11.50 p.m., Ms B. Ghose had come out of her apartment with her nurse as her son was leaving. The nurse unmindfully pulled the door shut, not realizing that the door key was inside. Later, when they tried to enter the apartment, it was a shocking realization that they were locked out. Panic stricken she called ZC Mr. D. Roy. After hearing her out, Mr Roy immediately sent MCA Mr J. Dutta Roy to pacify her and ensured her of handling the situation. He called several contacts of his to find a reliable person to break open the door. It was difficult being past midnight. But as promised, Mr. Roy arranged for a person, took him along to the member’s house and got the lock broken. By the time the door could be opened it was 1.30 a.m. Ms Ghose was extremely relieved. The neighbours who witnessed this praised Mr. Roy and Support Elders. Later a locksmith was taken to Ms Ghose’s apartment to fix the broken lock to ensure her safety and security.

Timely assistance

On 4th January, 2023, ZC Mr Nazimuddin received a call from our member Mr A. Mukherjee’s son at 6.50 a.m stating that his father’s blood platelets had reduced drastically and required immediate blood transfusion. Mr Nazimuddin instantly informed NAC and an ambulance was arranged. Our care associate Mr F. C Patra who was assigned the duty, rushed to our member’s house and carefully assisted him to the ambulance. He escorted Mr Mukherjee and admitted him to the hospital and ensured that he was attended to instantly. As Mr Mukherjee was already undergoing a chronic ailment, for him the on-time blood transfusion was crucial. He was at the hospital for 3 days during which our care associates were highly vigilant and constantly kept a check. On discharge he was assisted and taken home by the Support Elders staff.
