On 7th July 2023, while OC1 Mr K.K Mitra of Uttarpara, visited our member Ms B. Mitra, she informed him of receiving constant messages regarding unpaid House tax. She was much worried about this and didn’t know how to resolve this issue. Her children being settled in the USA also didn’t know the way forward.

Mr Mitra heard all details and collected necessary documents and went to the Municipality office. He met the concerned authorities, found out the details of her House Tax status and realised that after her husband’s demise, for the last 3 years, it had not been paid.

Mr. Mitra met the authorities of Konnagar Municipality, resolved all disputes, collected all the documents of pending dues, and paid the house tax and cleared it all. Within a week everything was sorted.

Our member was extremely relieved and happy for the quick solution of this problem.

Our member Mr. A. C. Chatterjee, had fallen and injured his femur bone and was admitted to the hospital by our Support Elders staff for an operation. While he was kept under observation and medical examinations were going on, regularly some staff of ours used to visit the hospital to find out about our member’s health. On the day of his operation, our MCA Mr. S. Biswas had gone to the hospital to get updates of our member. At that time, he was told that blood was required but it was unavailable in the hospital blood bank. Mr. Biswas, immediately rushed to find blood from all the blood banks nearby and other hospitals. It was ultimately found in one of the hospitals of Serampur. Mr. Biswas brought it to the hospital in record time, where Mr. Chatterjee was admitted.
This timely action was much appreciated by the doctor and the operation was successful. Our member was discharged after three days. He was taken home by the Support Elders team. Later also they kept in touch regularly till Mr. Chatterjee was absolutely fine.

On 18th May’23 in Hyderabad, at around 5.30 p.m. Mr. Bhemaiah received a call from our member Ms J. Lahiri’s house stating that she had fainted. He immediately rushed to her house and found her lying unconscious on the ground. She was picked up and helped to regain consciousness. Her speech was incoherent and she required immediate hospitalisation. After convincing her for hospitalisation, an ambulance was called and she was hospitalised immediately. Being frail and weak she was instantly attended to in the emergency. The doctor stated that she had lost consciousness at home due to a mild stroke that she had suffered. A hemorrhage was detected at the back of her head and she was shifted to the ICU for further treatment. Timely admission had saved her from undergoing a surgery.
She was discharged from the hospital after a week, and the Support Elders team took her back home safely. During her stay at the hospital the team was constantly in touch with her to ensure her wellbeing, which is being continued till date. She is still on medication but her blood clot has healed to a great extent.

On 16th February, 2023 our member Mr. S. B Bardhan called ZC Mr. Nazimuddin at 4.56 a.m. stating an emergency. MCA Mr. S. Sana rushed to the member’s house immediately. On hearing that Mr. Bardhan had breathing problem at night, Mr. Sana immediately checked his Oxygen saturation and BP. He found that his BP had fallen drastically. He called NAC instantly for an ambulance. Within no time the ambulance arrived, and Mr. Bardhan was taken to the hospital and admitted in the emergency. ZC Mr. Nazimuddin visited the hospital at around 9.30 a.m. and found that our member’s heart beat was uneven and his BP was fluctuating dangerously. The doctor wanted to proceed for catheterization and also recommended ventilation as anything critical could happen. Mr. Nazimuddin immediately consulted the family members and intimated them about the condition. Since they couldn’t arrive, Mr. Nazimuddin was permitted to sign on behalf of them which was authorized over the phone. After all the medical proceedings our member was kept under observation till his condition had stabilised. After a week he was discharged, and was taken home by the Support Elders staff.
