Radio Legacy and Impact
Our member Ms. H. Roy, took us through her journey into the world of radio presenting. She
eloquently discussed the vast opportunities for learning, the challenges of the profession, the
recruitment process, and the necessity of continuous study and self-improvement. Emphasizing the importance of practicing diction and pronunciation, she described the rigorous effort required to achieve perfection in this field.
Ms. Roy proudly highlighted the diverse programs broadcast on Akashbani Maitreyee, a channel dedicated to Bengalis from both Bangladesh and West Bengal. From morning till night, the channel features a variety of musical, educational, and farmer related programs. She also praised the captivating dramas (𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘬) presented on the channel and mentioned the renowned Birendra Krishna Bhadra, who pioneered radio dramas – 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘳 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘬 – in November 1927.
She stressed that during emergencies, Akashbani prioritizes delivering accurate information and providing regular weather updates. Trusted by the public for its reliability, the station upholds its reputation by promptly acknowledging and apologizing for any errors, rather than attempting to cover them up.
The program was both engrossing and highly informative, keeping everyone engaged until the end. Ms. Roy’s fantastic narrative was met with admiration and appreciation from all.
